Our Team

Paul is the head of portfolio management for Fortis and is the portfolio manager for the Glacier Peak U.S. Value Fund LP.

Prior to Fortis, Paul spent nine years at Ernst & Young focusing on financial statement investigation and business valuation (auditing and financial due diligence) and Big Data/Advanced Analytics. Paul’s audit work was primarily for large US based companies (including IPOs, spin-offs and other transactions). His work in financial due diligence was focused on assisting major private equity firms in their valuation of businesses based on recurring “owner’s earnings”. He graduated Summa Cum Laude from the University of San Diego.

Paul is currently the Treasurer for Divine Alternatives for Dads and the President of the University Kiwanis organization. In his free time he loves to read and travel with his wife Emily.

Mike oversees all aspects of our wealth management and financial planning business including maintaining ongoing relationships and developing holistic solutions for our clients.

Prior to Fortis, Mike was an Assistant Portfolio Manager for Glacier Peak Capital. Glacier Peak Capital was a registered investment advisor with approximately $190 million in assets under management spread across two discretionary hedge fund portfolios. Mike played a key role in launching Glacier Peak Capital as a spinoff from Summit Capital Group, where he formerly worked as an Equity Analyst. Prior to Summit, Mike was an auditor for Ernst & Young LLP where he earned his CPA designation, specializing in financial statement investigation. He graduated as Valedictorian from University of San Diego.

Mike is currently a board member for Teleios and on the Audience Development Committee for the Virginia Mason Foundation. In his free time he is active in his church community in NE Seattle and loves to travel with his wife, Melissa, and twin girls.

James oversees all marketing strategy and business operations for the Fortis Financial Group and is a member of the Investment Committee for the Glacier Peak US Value Fund.

Beginning his career in New York City, he draws on his banking, real estate and finance experiences there to offer a unique perspective on value, risk analysis and creative problem solving. In 2011, James left New York and joined Morgan Stanley’s Seattle office. Prior to Fortis he was the Chief Operating Officer for Glacier Peak Capital, which merged with Fortis in 2018. He is a 2001 graduate of Middlebury College (Middlebury, VT) with a B.A. in political science.

Currently James serves on the Seattle Prep Alumni Board and the Mercer Island Center for the Arts Board. James’ free time is spent coaching his sons’ youth sports teams, playing golf and skiing. James, his wife Jessica, and their 3 sons reside on Mercer Island.

At Fortis, John’s primary focus is on building and executing financial plans for our clients.

John began his career in financial planning and wealth management with the UBS Cascade Group. While with the Cascade Group, he worked with high net worth clients by building comprehensive financial plans and implementing action items on their behalf. As a Certified Financial Planner, he is passionate about helping clients plan for life’s biggest moments. He graduated Cum Laude from Seattle Pacific University.

In his free time, John enjoys staying active and spending time with his wife.

Jordan is dedicated to providing exceptional client service for wealth management clients.

Before joining the Fortis team, Jordan worked as a Relationship Manager at TD Ameritrade. While at TD, she supported independent financial advisors by servicing client accounts and being an industry/platform expert. She is FINRA Series 66 registered and is working towards attaining the Certified Financial Planner designation. She graduated from San Diego State University.

In her free time, Jordan enjoys hiking with her two Australian Shepherds and watching Seattle sports.

Grace is focused on ensuring our clients have a “wow” experience and receive top of the line service in their interactions with the Fortis Family.

Prior to joining the Fortis team, Grace completed her Master’s in Business Administration and an Organizational Management undergraduate degree from the University of Minnesota-Duluth.

In her free time, Grace enjoys hiking, exploring local breweries, and cheering on Wisconsin sports teams.

Emme is excited to work with clients and get to know them in order to best serve their needs.

Emme is from Seattle and recently graduated from the University of Arizona with a bachelor’s degree in behavioral science and is excited to start her career in wealth management at Fortis. She is currently working to gain her series 65 registration.

In her free time she enjoys traveling to new countries, keeping up with the Wildcat basketball teams, and exploring local wineries and tasting rooms.

Stas is originally from Ukraine and graduated from the University of Washington with a bachelor’s degree in Accounting. Prior to joining the Fortis team, Stas worked as a Financial Professional at Equitable. While at Equitable, he delivered exceptional service to clients with a focus on retirement planning. He is currently working towards attaining the Certified Financial Planner certification.

In his free time, he enjoys traveling, playing tennis, and spending time with family.

Jack began his career at Vanguard. While at Vanguard he worked as a high net worth associate assisting clients through their inheritance processes while acting as their single point of contact. He also completed an internship as a securities pricing analyst. He graduated from Washington State University.

In his free time he enjoys sports, playing golf, reading, and spending time with family and friends.
