Our Team

Paul is the CEO of Fortis. Paul’s primary focus is to ensure that the Firm remains client focused at all times and helps them to meet their goals. He also oversees strategic planning and overall company direction.

Prior to Fortis, Paul spent nine years at Ernst & Young focusing on financial statement investigation and business valuation (auditing and financial due diligence for private equity firms). He graduated Summa Cum Laude from University of San Diego.

Paul is currently on the Board of Divine Alternatives for Dads and the University Kiwanis organization. In his free time, Paul loves to spend time with his wife and kids as well as read.

Mike is the President and Chief Investment Officer of Fortis. Mike is primarily responsible for overseeing and driving improvements in the investment strategies of the firm as well as working with top tier clients to manage and grow their wealth. As the team continues to grow, Mike also spends time recruiting and training new advisors on how to communicate and improve the investment solutions for clients.

Prior to Fortis, Mike was an Assistant Portfolio Manager for Glacier Peak Capital. Glacier Peak Capital was a registered investment advisor with approximately $190 million in assets under management spread across two discretionary hedge fund portfolios. Mike played a key role in launching Glacier Peak Capital as a spinoff from Summit Capital Group, where he formerly worked as an Equity Analyst. Prior to Summit, Mike was an auditor for Ernst & Young LLP where he earned his CPA designation, specializing in financial statement investigation. He graduated as Valedictorian from University of San Diego.

Outside of work, Mike is active in his church community in NE Seattle, spends time out at his family cabin on Marrowstone Island and loves to travel. Mike resides in Lake Forest Park with his wife, twin girls and son.

James is responsible for overseeing the marketing strategy and business operations at Fortis Financial Group, and he also serves as a member of the Investment Committee for the Fortis Flagship Fund.
Starting his career in New York City, James brings a wealth of experience in banking, real estate, and finance, which informs his unique approach to value assessment, risk analysis, and creative problem-solving. In 2011, he relocated to Seattle and joined Morgan Stanley’s local office. Before joining Fortis, James was the Chief Operating Officer at Glacier Peak Capital, which merged with Fortis in 2018. He holds a B.A. in political science from Middlebury College, class of 2001.

In addition to his professional role, James actively contributes to his community. He serves on the Seattle Prep Alumni Board and the Mercer Island Center for the Arts Board. Outside of work, James enjoys coaching his sons’ youth sports teams, playing golf, and skiing. He and his wife, Jessica, along with their three sons, call Mercer Island home.

At Fortis, John’s primary focus is on building and executing financial plans for our clients.

John began his career in financial planning and wealth management with the UBS Cascade Group. While with the Cascade Group, he worked with high net worth clients by building comprehensive financial plans and implementing action items on their behalf. As a Certified Financial Planner, he is passionate about helping clients plan for life’s biggest moments. He graduated Cum Laude from Seattle Pacific University.

In his free time, John enjoys staying active and spending time with his wife.

Jordan is a dedicated Certified Financial Planner® with a drive for helping clients create and execute a plan to achieve their unique goals. She believes in the importance of educating clients and empowering them to make informed decisions.

Jordan believes building strong relationships with clients and genuinely getting to know them is a pillar for helping them achieve their financial goals with personalized guidance. Jordan puts to practice that meaningful connections are the foundation for achieving long-term success and financial well-being.

Outside of her professional life, Jordan enjoys staying active and is an avid enthusiast of watersports. She also loves spending time with her husband, daughter, and Australian Shepherds.

Connor is a Certified Financial Planner ® practitioner with a passion for helping individuals and families achieve their financial goals. At Fortis, he specializes in financial planning and investment management, providing tailored strategies to meet each client’s unique needs.

Prior to joining Fortis, Connor spent six years as an Advisor at Moss Adams in their Privated Clients Advisory group. There he was a key member of the Executive National Practice specializing in working with executives, leveraging his expertise in equity compensation, stock options, and comprehensive financial planning to address their unique and complex financial needs.

Outside of work, you can find Connor on the golf course, at the gym, enjoying the outdoors, or spending time with friends and family.

Justin is a Wealth Advisor at Fortis. He is responsible for helping business owners and executives navigate complex financial decisions, with a focus on long-term wealth preservation and growth. With a background in mortgage and private wealth management, Justin brings deep expertise in structuring financial solutions that align with clients’ personal and business goals.

Before joining Fortis, Justin spent 20 years as a mortgage broker, successfully guiding high-net-worth clients through intricate financing strategies. He later transitioned to wealth management, earning his CEPA designation to specialize in exit planning for business owners. His experience includes advising C-level executives on financial strategies and facilitating complex financial service deals.

Outside of work, Justin enjoys golfing, climbing, and spending time in the Pacific Northwest. He has summited Mount Rainier three times and is currently training for another ascent. He lives in the Madrona neighborhood with his wife and two children.

As Chief of Staff, Grace plays a pivotal role in ensuring Fortis runs smoothly. Grace oversees operations and manages key initiatives. Working closely with the entire team to maintain the office’s daily functions, streamline processes, and aligning business strategies with company goals are a big part of her day to day.

Prior to Fortis, Grace completed her MBA at University of Minnesota. Grace currently serves on the Financial Planning Association – Puget Sound board of directors.

Outside of work, Grace enjoys spending time with friends, traveling and cheering on Wisconsin sports teams.

Emme is passionate about building strong relationships with clients and helping them achieve their financial goals.

She has been with Fortis for almost three years and has successfully obtained her Series 65 registration. Originally from Seattle, Emme earned her bachelor’s degree in behavioral science from the University of Arizona before launching her career in wealth management.

In her free time, she enjoys traveling to new countries, keeping up with Arizona Wildcat basketball, and exploring local wineries and tasting rooms.

As a client service associate at Fortis, Stas focuses on helping develop personalized financial plans that are tailored to each client’s unique situation, supporting them in achieving their financial goals while building lasting relationships.

Stas began his career as a Financial Professional at Equitable, specializing in retirement planning and providing personalized solutions to clients. Originally from Ukraine, Stas holds a bachelor’s degree in Accounting from the University of Washington and is currently working toward the Certified Financial Planner® certification.

In his free time, he enjoys traveling, playing tennis, and spending time with friends and family.

Jack is from the Greater Seattle Area and graduated from Washington State University with degrees in Finance and Business Management.Jack is passionate about working with clients to help them achieve their goals. He assists with day to day operations and with the financial planning.

He started his career at Vanguard where he worked as a High Net Worth Client Associate and as an Analyst. He is currently working towards completing the Certified Financial Planner® exam.

In his free time, he enjoys sports, playing golf, reading, and spending time with family and friends.
