James is responsible for overseeing the marketing strategy and business operations at Fortis Financial Group, and he also serves as a member of the Investment Committee for the Fortis Flagship Fund.
Starting his career in New York City, James brings a wealth of experience in banking, real estate, and finance, which informs his unique approach to value assessment, risk analysis, and creative problem-solving. In 2011, he relocated to Seattle and joined Morgan Stanley’s local office. Before joining Fortis, James was the Chief Operating Officer at Glacier Peak Capital, which merged with Fortis in 2018. He holds a B.A. in political science from Middlebury College, class of 2001.
In addition to his professional role, James actively contributes to his community. He serves on the Seattle Prep Alumni Board and the Mercer Island Center for the Arts Board. Outside of work, James enjoys coaching his sons’ youth sports teams, playing golf, and skiing. He and his wife, Jessica, along with their three sons, call Mercer Island home.
